I got this recipe from a good friend and my family loves it. It is an easy way to get the kiddos to eat their veggies! Sometimes I like to throw in a shake of red pepper flakes too!
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 6-10 slices of raw bacon (we like to experiment with the different flavors)
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1 t. soy sauce
- salt and pepper to taste, we like to use Lawrys’ Garlic Salt
Preheat the oven to 400.
Wrap 1 piece of bacon around 2-3 spears of asparagus and secure with a toothpick.
Place in a small baking dish.
Combine the remaining ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil while stirring.
Pour this mixture over the asparagus.
Bake 20-30 minutes until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is cooked.
I like to run it under the broiler for a minute or two as well.
