Susie’s Chem Free Zone: Our First Norwex Unboxing

Hey guys!

Oh my goodness, things have been so crazy here… I wish I could share it all with you but we are trying our best not to ‘jinx’ ourselves but my patience is wearing thin and I’m about ready to scream because I JUST WANT TO TELL THE WHOLE WORLD HOW EXCITED WE ARE!

Then if things didn’t seem crazy enough Mr. Awesome shocked me and took me somewhere I wasn’t expecting to go… hopefully I can share that pretty soon as well… but again I just don’t want to ‘jinx’ anything… lol. Y’all really need to pray for me because my nerves have about had it with all this EXCITEMENT!

I know I’ve been going on and on about Norwex since I am so IN LOVE with their products and I jumped in to become an Independent Sales Consultant. I kept promising my peeps with my VIP group that I would do an unboxing but things were so hectic that I just couldn’t find time to get it done.

I made a promise

Well, last weekend I promised it was gonna happen… FOR REAL, and it did! I wasn’t brave enough to do a live video which was a good thing because we had to edit out so many bloopers and crazy random things that the kids did. The lighting was SO BAD too and the kids kept bumping the table which kept shaking the iPad… you know how it goes. They did have a ton of fun helping me with the video though.

Here is the video if you want to watch it in all of its GLORY:

I had to speed the video up a bit to keep it at a reasonable link so it sounds like I am talking a mile a minute but I really don’t talk that fast at all.

We haven’t really been doing a lot of videos since Olivia moved out. I also got a little discouraged because of feeling like we weren’t perfect enough but this video actually helped me get past that fear a little bit.

Keep an eye out for Lizzie and Jacob’s disappearing/reappearing act while the video was in progress.

The intro

Norwex has been in business for over 25 years and began in Norway, Norwex actually stands for the ‘Norwegian Experience’. Their mission is ‘Improving quality of life by radically reducing chemicals in our homes’ which fits in quite well with our personal mission of trying to live a healthier, more natural lifestyle.

Norwex claims that you can clean up to 90% of your home with their microfiber cloths and water which is great when you consider that the average household has about 62 toxic chemicals! This also saves so much time versus other methods like steam cleaning because you don’t have to wait for the water to heat up before you can clean.

Being able to rid our house of so many chemicals really does provide a sense of relief as I have a little less to worry about as far as the kids, and the dog and cat, are concerned. By replacing our old cleaners with Norwex products we will save a lot of money as well because we don’t need so many different cleaners for different things.

Unexpected Benefit

Another unexpected benefit of using Norwex is the space-saving factor. Maybe you don’t really have that concern but living in 600 square feet means that we must use every inch of space to its maximum ability. By getting rid of so many cleaners I now have a little extra space… too bad it’s not quite enough room to make me a place to hide.

The Products

The boys were really awesome helpers as they were so excited to see what had been in those boxes for so long!

The first product we pulled out was the ‘Little Red Cloth‘ which is one of their Envirocloths. The Envirocloths are microfiber cloths which are so soft and durable. These little cloths can clean just about anything, wet or dry.

The three things that set Norwex microfiber cloths apart are:

  1. The size of the fiber is 1/200th the size of a human hair!
  2. There are 1800 miles of microfiber in one Envirocloth! An unraveled cloth would reach from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico!
  3. It removes up to 99% of bacteria with just water! When proper care and usage instructions are followed.

The cloths also have a special BacLock Technology which is a micro silver agent that is embedded into each fiber. When the cloth is wet it goes to work to self-purify within 24 hours. It also inhibits bacterial odor, mold, and/or mildew growth.

Window Cloth

The Envirocloth has a best friend which is the window cloth. You can use a wet Envirocloth to clean and then come back with a window cloth for a streak-free shine… this kinda reminds me of the Karate Kid’s ‘wax on, wax off’ scene… lol.

They come in a variety of colors. We actually received one of the special edition house printed ones and then another purple one.

Dusting Mitt

The first thing I have to tell you about is just how soft this thing is… like I want someone to just rub me down with it because I think it would be so amazingly relaxing. The boys take turns rubbing each other’s faces with it because they love the way it feels. I might just have to order another one for ‘calm down’ purposes!

If you hate to dust… ahem, guilty here… because it seems like the dust just flies from one place to another then you NEED this product!

The mitt creates static cling which attracts the dust particles and keeps them from flying away… the more static it builds up the more dust it attracts. When one side is filled just flip it over and use the other side. It cleans off very easily also.

The Silver Package

So when you sign up to be an Independent Sales Consultant you have the opportunity to choose between a couple of different packages which offer a wide variety of products at a considerable discount. I really wanted to go with the GOLD package but didn’t want to dip into my savings to do it so I went with the SILVER Package. If I had it to do again I’d probably go with the GOLD but we are happy with what we got.

The dusting mitt works great for easy to reach places but the Envirowand is what you need for those high up, hard to reach areas in your house… when you are short like there are a lot of those areas.

I always hate having to drag the BIG ladder in so I can dust the ceiling fans… I really hate ladders in general. This is going to make my life so much easier and safer since I won’t be climbing ladders while doing a balancing act as I try to reach everywhere.

Counter Cloths

The next product we pulled out of the box was the counter cloths… these will be one of my new best friends and I plan to purchase several more of them soon.

These will replace paper towels for many of our everyday needs and I may use them as napkins when… Oops, I almost spilled some beans… Anyway, the kids love how soft they are and I love that they are super absorbent which is why I think they will be great napkins because the kids are always spilling their drinks at the table.

Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls

I have become a fan of dryer balls over the past few years as we have replaced dryer sheets with them. Dryer sheets may smell good but that comes at a cost of exposing yourself and your family to a ton of harmful chemicals from the fragrances.

We like to use a couple of drops of Lavender essential oils with our dryer balls. They seem to help the clothes dry faster and with fewer wrinkles. We haven’t tried out our new dryer balls yet but they seem to be just as durable as the ones we have been using for the past several years.

Stainless Steel Cloth

I haven’t used mine yet but they claim that with the special weave of this cloth you can easily remove dirt, fingerprints, water drop marks, and smudges from stainless steel and/or metal appliances.

They can help you get a smooth, streak-free, shine on your appliances without scratching. They also remove up to 99% of bacteria with only the cloth and water!

Dish Cloths

These are probably the most intriguing to me even though I haven’t actually used them for the dishes yet. The weave of the cloth is very unique and works well for scrubbing.

They come with two in the package and they seem so durable. Jacob tried his best to get one because he wanted to use it to scrub himself clean in the shower… I’ll have to keep my eye out for that little stinker.

We got a stack of catalogs for Fall 2019 which is a great thing as I’ve had a ton of people asking about the different products and such. I’m going to try to keep a stack of catalogs with me so I can pass them out wherever I go.

You can always check the products out online at  or ask me for a catalog if you happen to see me out and about somewhere.

Bathroom Scrub Mitt

This will make cleaning the shower so much easier. It seems like it would work well for a bathtub too if we had one.

I have been looking for an alternative to the steel wool pads that I keep under the sink and I think this may the answer. I hate it when I’m scrubbing away at something and a piece of the steel wool comes off in my finger or hand… you’ve done it too, I’m sure.

Liquid Laundry Detergent

The next thing out of the box was the liquid laundry detergent. It says there are 215 loads in one bottle which seems AMAZING! It is a concentrated enzyme-based cleaner and it does work quite well. This detergent is safe for conventional and high-efficiency washers. I used it this week when I did the laundry and I was quite impressed how well it worked with just a tiny amount.

Veggie & Fruit Scrub Cloth and Fresh Produce Wash

This two-sided cloth works well for getting all of the dirt and toxins off of your fruits and veggies. As soon as the boys heard me say what this cloth was for they snuck it into the kitchen to try it out on the apples they wanted to eat for a snack. They said it made their apples taste better.

We also got a bottle of Fresh Produce Wash which we haven’t tried yet but we will give it try the next time we buy some berries or small veggies.

Dishwashing Liquid

Ms. Caitlyn hates to wash dishes so she wasn’t too happy to see this come out of the box but I was super happy. This bottle is ultra-concentrated and has a wonderful citrus scent. The label says it is free from a bunch of long-named chemicals that I can’t pronounce and when I checked our old detergent it didn’t say that even though it claims to be ‘natural’… hmmm. Although we haven’t had a chance to try it yet I have heard some great reviews about this product.

Bathroom Cleaner

This is one of the products I did use right away as I was curious to see how well it worked on our orange stains… it did work well as far as regular cleaning but it did not completely remove all of the orange stains in the toilet and shower. I have ordered some of the Descaler to see if that works any better. We have had a hard time finding anything to completely take away the stains without a whole lot of elbow grease.

We also received an additional Window Cloth and Envriocloth with our Silver Package.

We have not had a chance… ok maybe there have been opportunities but I have lacked the motivation… to use all of these products. The kids have actually used more of them than I have so far but I have been pleased with everything that we have used and I do plan to try them all out soon.

I have also just received another order:

This order contains:

And the boys have run off with the fruit & veggie mitt so they can clean a couple of apples for a snack… what can I say? Norwex has helped the kids to eat healthier and possibly saved them from ingesting harmful toxins.

Go check out their products

Have you checked out the Norwex site yet? They have a wide variety of products, not just cleaning products, to choose from. Every month they offer different specials and sales. This month they offering a Limited-Edition Fuschia Kitchen Towels for just $20.00 when you meet the purchase requirements.

Our first order was for the cute pet to dry unicorn and dragon shown in the picture below:

These little critters are so cute and my kids are always washing their hands so they can ‘pet’ the unicorn or dragon. They have seen some of the other critters in the catalog and have been begging for me to get a couple more… maybe for Christmas? Gosh, I don’t even want to think about Christmas yet but it’s really not that far off… Norwex has tons of products that would make perfect gifts for any occasion.

I know this post was a little bit on the long side and it might actually have been a little faster to watch the hyperspeed video but if you made it this far, thank you! If you want any more information you can leave a comment below and I will try to answer as quickly as possible.
