Today has been a bit crazy. We didn’t get home until late last night from the Fall Festival Carnival Dance and I was so tired! I really didn’t want to get up this morning but I did manage to drag myself out of bed and after a cup of cappuccino from my Keurig I was able to focus my eyes enough to start breakfast.
I checked my calendar and saw that I had planned to make Strawberry Strudels. Unfortunately I had not set out the puff pastry to thaw so that wasn’t gonna happen. I almost panicked as I was just too tired to try to come up with any ideas. I finally decided on Biscuits and Gravy with homemade Buttermilk Biscuits.
As I was making breakfast I was also thinking about my long list of To-Dos that seems to be growing at a rapid pace. During the past week we’ve had two birthdays as well and that means that two kiddos are expecting birthday dinners and a trip to the Dollar Store. Not to mention the fact that I still need to go grocery shopping.
Panic hit again. Thursday is Thanksgiving! AHHHHHHHH! Where has time went? I still haven’t bought a turkey or even really made a menu for Thanksgiving Dinner!
Well, first things first and that meant I needed to get the kids fed. Then I needed to clean up the kitchen. After breakfast I sat down at the table with my laptop. (I try not to do computer work on Sundays but today was an exception.) While checking out my blog I found some not so wonderful comments. After taking care of those I checked on the other blog I run for our square dance clubs.
I also worked on trying to upload some videos to Youtube. Our internet has really been giving us a fit lately too. In between trying to upload videos, check email, and just wanting to throw my hands up in the air I did manage to get my grocery list finished.
I heard the doorbell ring and it was a surprise visitor bringing a gift for the birthday boy. She also brought me some crafting supplies, material, and a couple other things for some skirts I need to work on. Yet another item on my To-Do list. We also discussed a couple of ideas for possibly closing in part of the porch to use as a craft area/office/storage room.
After she left I pulled out my big purple binder. This binder has several folders with labels like ‘Birthdays’, ‘Polar Express’, and you guessed it ‘Thanksgiving’. I have all of our family favorite recipes stored in individual folders along with past menus and notes. This took a bit of time to set up but it definitely makes life a little easier when its time to plan a special event.
Before I knew it lunchtime was here. We had a gourmet meal of Spaghettios and Grilled Cheese… lol. Then the kids went down for naptime. Which should have been a productive time for Mommy but dealing with the internet being so slow and frustrating I really didn’t get a lot of anything done. I did manage to change my blog theme though… in case you haven’t noticed. (There are still a few formatting issues I need to work on but little by little I will get it finished.)
I also boiled some chicken and got everything in the crockpot for dinner. We will be having one of our favorites, Crockpot Cream Cheese Chicken.
So my plans for the rest of the day are to take two kiddos, DD9 and DS15, out to dinner. (15?! where did time go?) While we are out we will also stop by the Dollar Store so they can buy a small gift and then head to the grocery store to pick up a few things. I may also try to get those videos uploaded while we are out and about as we may have better internet access in town.
Even though life gets really crazy and hectic and it may sound like I’m complaining, I’m really not. I love my life and I am trying my best to enjoy every moment of every day. I am thankful to be as blessed as I am.
