I found this recipe on Facebook a couple of years ago and my kids love to help make these. This has become an Easter tradition in our home.
Empty Tomb Rolls
Ingredients:
- 2 (10 oz) cans crescent rolls
- 16 big marshmallows
- 1 stick melted butter
- 4 T cinnamon
- 4 T sugar
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400.
Grease a baking sheet.
Mix the cinnamon and sugar together.
Separate the crescents rolls into individual pieces.
Dip the marshmallows into the butter and then roll in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Put the marshmallow on the wide end of the roll and wrap the dough around it. Be sure to pinch the dough closed all the way around the marshmallow.
Place the rolls on the baking sheet and bake approximately 15 minutes.
Lesson:
The crescent roll represents the tomb that Jesus was laid in.
The marshmallow represents the body of Christ.
The butter, cinnamon, and sugar represent the oils and spices that were used to anoint his body with at burial.
When finished, break open the ‘tomb’ to find it empty!
We’ve made these before. It’s a yummy object lesson. 💛

Yes they are! I got extra marshmallows as they seem to disappear before getting wrapped in dough. 🙂
