This is a recipe that somebody passed along to me a while back. I scribbled down the ingredients and stuck it in my binder. We love to eat this over steamed veggies and fried rice. It is also good with steak.
It does need to be made a little ahead of time. I think the original recipe suggested letting it sit overnight. I usually try to make it a few hours ahead of time.
Japanese White Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 1/3 c. mayo
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 t. tomato paste (I have used ketchup)
- 1 T. butter, melted (I have left this out and it was still good)
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1 t. sugar
- 1/4 t. paprika
- a dash of cayenne pepper (I usually put 3-4 dashes at least)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a tight fitting lid. Stir until smooth. Cover and refrigerate to let the flavors blend.
This is so good and slightly addictive!
