Mashed Potatoes

Mmmmm… I love homemade mashed potatoes. I use my hand masher to make mine but feel free to use a mixer, if you like. You can adjust the milk, butter, and seasonings to get these to your liking.

Mashed Potatoes

  • 10-12 medium to large potatoes, peeled, rinsed, and quartered
  • 1/2 – 1 whole stick of butter or margarine
  • 1/4- 1/2 c. milk, maybe a little more
  • salt and pepper to taste

Boil the potatoes in a large pot for 20-30 minutes until fork tender. Drain the potatoes and put back into pot or into a large mixing bowl. Mash the potatoes with a hand masher or mixer. Add the butter and stir. Add milk until the potatoes reach the desired consistency. Season to taste. Serve hot!
